Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in design, illustration, motion graphics or related discipline required Practical work experience as a designer, animator, or illustrator Skilled in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere, and After Effects Knowledge of latest relevant software and technologies Fluency in current media production best practices Ability to storyboard, to plan out a project, and to help others to visualize the end result Ability to take complex subjects and explain them clearly to different audiences Positive and professional attitude; interest in learning new skills Be sure to include a show reel or portfolio link in your application along with a cover letter and resume!
Duties:The Office of Marketing and Communications at Mohawk Valley Community College is responsible for building the reputation, enhancing the brand, and promoting the academic and programmatic offerings of the College. The position of multimedia advertising designer will help develop the school's digital footprint and identity by working with a graphic designer, web developer, content developers, as well as writers, and videographers, on the creation of print and multimedia graphics, and their integration into motion graphics for use in various digital media (including web, mobile apps, online ads, html emails, social media, digital signage, presentations, and more). The ideal candidate will be a team player who is motivated, inspired, detail-oriented, and strategic, has a strong visual sense and understanding of design and typography and is in tune with social networking and web trends. The position reports to the Executive Director of Marketing and Communications and is based at MVCC's Utica Campus. Responsibilities Translates content into visuals for digital and print presentations. Creates motion graphics in a multitude of formats for use on the website, social media, texts, HTML emails, advertising, digital signage, and mobile apps. Contributes to visual messaging that supports recruitment, retention, brand awareness, reputation, and priorities of the College. Develops iconographic illustrations that enhance MVCC's visual identity and simplify communications. Works with design colleagues, content developers, web developer, and photographer and videographer to develop visuals in concert with MVCC's existing branding guidelines.
