The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Medical College of Georgia (MCG) located in Augusta, Georgia is actively seeking candidates for a full-time faculty position as Gynecologic Oncologist to join a busy practice with 2 other gynecologic oncologists.
The Practice is primarily at the Medical College of Georgia with an affiliation with a private medical oncology group. Duties include teaching of medical students and residents, patient care with opportunities for both clinical and basic research. We are an affiliate member of GOG and participate actively in industry and investigator initiated clinical trials. With the building of a new Cancer Center, there is a great opportunity to participate in basic research.
Clinical Duties and Responsibilities:
Work in partnership with faculty & residents to ensure medical records for all patients are thorough and complete such that all queries from the clinical documentation staff are ansered in a timely fashion.
Work in partnership with faculty and residents to ensure that ALL complications and co-morbidities for your patients are accurately documented in the patients' medical record.
Work with faculty, residents, and staff members to help improve patient satisfaction such that the overall score for OB/GYN is at or above the institutional target, which is currently at 83rd percentile benchmark of the Press Ganey database of AMC's. Provides service in the inpatient and outpatient areas. Conducts daily rounds on inpaitents to ensure quality of care. Actively participate in clinical trials. Contribute to ongoing reseach in OB/GYN to help improve the reputation of the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology across the country. The ideal candidate must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a commitment to excellent patient care, strong work ethic and must be forward thinking with a team-oriented attitude. Proven ability to develop and lead.
Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Gynecologic Oncology
Maintains up-to-date credentials including: CV, license, DEA, Board Certification, documentation of hospital admitting privileges
Maintains CME credit hours as required for Board Certification and/or hospital staff privileges
