Position Summary: The Division of Genetics and Metabolism in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seeks an ABGC or ABMG certified/eligible genetic counselor. This position is a clinical faculty, genetic counseling appointment. Responsibilities include performing patient intakes, reviewing medical records and laboratory results to provide genetic counseling and appropriate follow-up in general pediatric genetics and metabolism clinics. In addition, working closely with MD clinical geneticists and trainees as well as participation in teaching and supervision of trainees in medical genetics and genetic counseling is expected. Opportunities will be available to engage in ongoing research projects. Excellent counseling, teaching, organizational skills and independence are highly desired qualities . Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
