RESEARCH SPECIALIST A
Duties: Perform research related to the study of how the growth cones of extending axons navigate through the developing embryo. The candidate will use a variety of laboratory techniques including immunohistochemistry, molecular biology and confocal microscopy. General laboratory management will be required including the ordering of supplies, equipment maintenance, mating of fish and recovery of embryos, and data management. This position will also train more junior lab personnel.
Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree and 0 to 1 year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. At least one year of laboratory experience preferred. Strong organization, communication and interpersonal skills necessary; experience managing a lab a plus. Recent graduates may be asked to supply transcripts to review relevant courses taken.
