Position Summary: The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is offering an excellent opportunity to be involved in the continued development of an academic program in neurocritical care as part of our institutional commitment to expanding both basic and clinical neurosciences. We are recruiting for additional neurointensivists to join our group in providing neurocritical care services. The appointment is a renewable, full-time, fixed term faculty appointment. This recruitment is open rank and dependent upon qualification/experience of the candidate. The Neuroscience ICU is staffed full-time by neurointensivists, 10 acute care nurse practitioners providing 24/7 coverage, and residents rotating from neurology, neurosurgery and emergency medicine. We offer a fellowship-training program in neurocritical care and have 1-2 fellows per year
Education Requirements: The qualified candidate will have an M.D. degree and will be certified/certification-eligible in Neurocritical Care by the United Council of Neurologic Specialties or have equivalent qualifications based on training and experience.
Qualification and Experience: The candidate must be UCNS certified or eligible in neurocritical care and be eligible to obtain a North Carolina medical license.
