Job Summary: The University of Georgia's College of Pharmacy is seeking a full-time, 9-month, faculty member to serve as an Academic Professional Associate. This position will be a key participant with the College's undergraduate pharmaceutical sciences and the graduate international biomedical regulatory sciences programs. The position will provide oversight of the BS/MS duel degree program, organize the College's important FDA co-sponsored conferences, develop industry-based training programs and provide instruction in both the pharmaceutical sciences and regulatory sciences. As such the position will be appointed at the College level and have dual reporting to the Dean's Office and the Department of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Sciences. The Associate Dean for Science Education, Research and Technology will serve as the supervisor for the position and home department will be the Dean's Office. Administration. In addition, the position will oversee the BS/MS dual degree programs within the College of Pharmacy. This includes admissions, retention and progression of the students in the program. The position will also provide mentoring and career counseling services as well as develop internship opportunities for students in the pharmaceutical sciences and regulatory sciences programs. Teaching. This position will have teaching obligations in both the undergraduate and graduate programs. The two programs are linked through an approved dual degree program and the position will be responsible for guiding students through the transition from one program to the other. Assisting with the management of the rapid expansion of the undergraduate program and the steady growth in the regulatory sciences program is an essential responsibility of this position. Service. The position will be responsible for the organization of the annual UGA/FDA International Current Good Manufacturing Practices Conference and the UGA/FDA Medical Device Conference. These conferences are major events attracting participants and speakers from all over the world. In addition, this position will develop industry focused training programs that combine our unique expertise in the pharmaceutical and regulatory sciences. Administration * Oversee advertising, admission, enrollment management activities and retention efforts of the BS/MS dual degree programs. * Ensure compliance with policies and procedures, make recommendations for changes in policy or procedures, and handle confidential problems that arise in regard to BS/MS dual degree students. * Assist the Directors of the undergraduate and graduate programs and the Associate Dean for Science Education, Research and Technology in facilitating growth of these educational programs. * Serve as an advocate for the BS/MS dual degree programs across the College and promote externally with other individuals, organizations and stakeholders. * Represent the College at appropriate University committees, functions and activities that relate to the BS/MS dual degree programs. * Develop and maintain effective collaborative relationships with all relevant faculty, groups within the University, and local, national, and international research organizations. * Perform other duties as assigned Teaching * Create and teach a 4000/6000 level elective course in the manufacturing and quality control of biotechnology products. * Assist with the laboratory portions of PMCY 3300, 4500 and 4510. * Participate in strategic planning for the undergraduate programs. * Teach the on-line course PHAR 6120 Process Control & Validation in the regulatory sciences program. Service * Plan and organize the annual FDA co-sponsored International Current Good Manufacturing Practices Conference and Medical Device Regulations Conference. * Organize industry-focused workshops and training programs centered on the pharmaceutical and regulatory sciences. Minimum Qualifications: * Doctoral degree and ten years of experience in the pharmaceutical and regulatory sciences * Ten years experience and familiarity with Federal government regulatory agencies

Preferred Qualifications: * Doctoral degree and twenty years of experience in the pharmaceutical and regulatory sciences * Demonstrated understanding of biotech and pharmaceutical industry needs * Scholarly accomplishments, commensurate with a faculty appointment * Successful record of scholarship, including publication in peer-reviewed journals * Strong evidence of leadership and interdisciplinary collaboration * Superior written and oral communication ability as well as diplomatic skills * Ability to establish and maintain cooperative professional relations with all segments to the institutional community, external agencies and the public
