Position Summary Information
Primary Purpose
Responsible for development of community based employment sites and opportunities for consumers of mental health services under the direct supervision of the Vocational Program Director.

Essential Functions
1. Develops job placements for consumers completing vocational service programs associated with funding source.

2. Actively participate in interagency meetings.

3. Assist in providing interagency trainings.

4. Facilitates completion of vocational assessments and work readiness evaluations.

5. Facilitates off-site job support for consumers in work placements.

6. Maintain documentation of work activities and tracking requirements for the funding source.

7. Performs other duties as assigned or requested in support of program operations.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma or G.E.D
  • Three (3) years related work experience related to Human Services.

    Preferred Qualifications
  • An advanced degree or professional certification.
  • Two (2) years experience in the area of Vocational Rehabilitation with Special Needs population.

  • Strong professional, ethical and leadership skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to clearly articulate performance roles, project goals and timelines.
  • Effectively manages deadlines and tasks independently.
  • Ability to form positive relationships with clients.
  • Positive attitude, ability to work successfully with diverse populations and demonstrated commitment to promote and enhance diversity and inclusion.

    The position requires performing physical activities, including standing, kneeling and reaching while interacting with others within the field and within the office. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

    Work Environment/Work Week/Travel:
    Work performed in varied environments including office, classroom, public settings and personal residence. This position will utilize standard business hours but will allow for flexibility based on job tasks. May occasionally include evening and weekends.

    Additional Requirements:
  • Ability to pass background/sanction checks for the funding agency(ies).
  • Must pass TB test.

    Valid driver's license required. Incumbent must also be able to meet the University's fleet rules and be eligible to drive for University business. The University and its insurance carrier reserves the right to exclude applicants based on their driving record.
