Job Summary

College for Kids 2018 at Aims Community College provides summer educational fun for students ages 9-12. The classes that are offered by this program are educational and inspiring while the environment is fun, creative and inviting.

College for Kids will have sessions in Greeley, Loveland and Fort Lupton:
Greeley - June 11-14
Loveland - June 18-21
Fort Lupton - June 25-28

Each day kids will take two classes with a lunch to split the day. Morning courses will run from 9 am to noon, Monday through Thursday. Afternoon courses will run from 1-4 pm, Monday through Thursday.

The College for Kids (CFK) Instructor is responsible for providing creative and organized instruction to CFK students in desired content area. Instructors will utilize appropriate College resources, materials, facilities, and educational technologies available to complement the teaching and learning process while following CFK and Aims Community College policies and procedures.

Instructor time commitment is four days at one location. Instructors will teach a class to one set of students in the morning and the same class to another set of students in the afternoon for four days. Instructors are encouraged, but not required to teach at multiple campuses.

Duties Include:
- Spearheads the development of curricula
- Prepares and delivers instruction to students
- Demonstrates a sensitivity toward and respect for the myriad of diversities represented in the student/parents population, colleagues, and service area
- Works with colleagues to select appropriate textbooks and course materials while abiding by program decisions for said materials
- Prepares assignments and activities for assigned class(es)
- Designs and maintains an active classroom environment conducive to student learning and success
- Maintains student attendance records and roster(s)
- Provides regular and timely evaluation feedback to students and colleagues regarding course while making adjustments as needed
- Directing and teaching students about assigned content area
- Developing course syllabus and plans to guide student's ages 9-12 years old through the learning process of assigned content area
- Accepts and participates in the necessary training/orientation for College for Kids 2017
- Accepts and participates in the mission of Aims Community College: To provide knowledge and skills to advance quality of life, economic vitality, and overall success of the communities we serve.
- Supports the values of Aims Community College: communication, safety, respect and professionalism, trust.
- Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually and adheres to the agreed upon work schedule
- Participate and/or lead activities during break/lunch time.
- Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

- Teaching experience
- Additional education, experience, and certification requirements will vary based on instructional area
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Experience using computerized systems
