Duties: Under limited supervision, provide high level administrative support to the Director of the Pennsylvania Muscle Institute (PMI) and the affiliated faculty on a broad range of administrative and educational duties. Coordinate PMI seminar series, including development of itineraries and planning all travel arrangements. Update PMI website and newsletters and prepare content as needed. Coordinate, and schedule PMI journal clubs and laboratory research meetings. Manage the logistics of PMI symposia, mini-symposia and other research meetings. Represent PMI and the Director to University, School of Medicine, Institute, and other external offices. Manage special projects and follow through on details as required. Organize grant materials and coordinate the grant submissions with PI's and other departments. Prepare correspondence for the Director. Place orders for laboratory and administrative supplies; process travel reimbursements.
Qualifications: The minimum of a High School diploma and 5 to 7 years of increasingly responsible administrative experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. College degree or coursework strongly preferred. This position requires excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, and the ability to thrive in an environment with competing deadlines and priorities. Strong oral and written communication skills, demonstrated intermediate to advanced level PC skills including all Microsoft Office applications and Dreamweaver are required. Knowledge of BEN Financials, Concur, and ModX is highly desirable.
