Position Summary: The UNC Department of Anesthesiology is seeking a psychologist with specialty training in pain medicine to join a prestigious group of pain medicine faculty. As the department continues to expand, we are hoping to find a third psychologist to join our team of providers. This individual would work primarily in hospital-based multidisciplinary outpatient pain clinics in the area, and also contribute to the research mission of the department. Clinical responsibilities include psychological evaluations and testing, individual and group psychotherapy, health education, and patient consultation. This individual will manage a caseload covering a wide variety of medical and mental health diagnoses to include: musculoskeletal pain, fibromyalgia, neuropathic pain, depression, mood and anxiety disorders, PTSD, and substance abuse and dependence.

Education Requirements: Doctorate in Psychology from an APA accredited program.

Qualification and Experience: Completion of an APA accredited clinical internship and specialized post-doctoral fellowship training in Clinical Health Psychology and/or Pain Medicine. Current North Carolina licensure or license eligible.
