Assistant Professor (Tenure Track Faculty)

Position Summary: Governors State University seeks applications for a full-time (9 month), tenure-track assistant professor position in the Department of Communication Disorders, College of Health and Human Services. The position is available August 2018 or until filled. The department consists of eight full-time faculty and three part-time faculty. The program serves both part-time and full-time students. The graduate program in speech-language pathology is CAA-accredited. All clinical experiences are community based and include culturally and linguistically diverse clients. Our desired candidates will have the ability to teach undergraduate/graduate courses, conduct research in areas of interest, supervise students in clinical activities, serve on department, college, and university committees, and advise graduate students.
Minimum Qualifications: Doctorate in Speech-Language Pathology or a related discipline is required; ABDs will be considered Certificate of Clinical Competence; CF will be considered Eligibility for Illinois licensure
Preferred Qualifications: Ability to teach in one or more of the following areas: Child Language, Adult Language and Cognitive Disorders, Dysphagia, Voice and Resonance Disorders, and/or Motor Speech Disorders Two or more years of clinical experience
Work Schedule: Schedule varies depending on course scheduling, but generally involves weekdays with some early evening hours.
