Dental Assistant II
The Dental Assistant II will provide chair side assistance in the treatment of orthodontic patients at the Kornberg School of Dentistry. This work requires coordination with the Business Office management and staff, clinical Affairs Office, Central Records and other departments and divisions. This position requires clinical orthodontic experience and experience with dental-orthodontic terminology, procedures and diagnosis, and all phases of dental assisting. The incumbent will be cross-trained to handle receptionist skills and will function as a fill-in receptionist as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience:
Two or more years experience as an Orthodontic Assistant required. Required Dental Assisting training and certificate from accredited school. Dental Radiology Certification from Commonwealth of Pennsylvania required. Certified Dental Assistant and CPR Certification required. An equivalent combination of education and/or additional experience may be considered.
Required Skills & Abilities:
* Dental assisting, dental radiology and computer knowledge.
* A high degree of reliability, flexibility and interpersonal skills are essential.
* Must have good communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population.
* Knowledge of dental terminology.
* Familiarity with diagnosis codes and procedure codes.
* Dental billing experience would be helpful.
