Tenure-Track Assistant/Associate Professor in Public Health Education

The Department of Health Sciences is seeking applicants to fill a tenure-track faculty position. The department offers courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels in public health education with an undergraduate student field internship component. This individual will have a primary appointment at the undergraduate level with the ability to teach at the graduate level. The undergraduate track consists of core courses such as Epidemiology, Introduction to Public Health, Community Health Research, Biostatistics, and Environment. Candidates must have a minimum of two years teaching experience. The applicant must have a doctorate in public health or a related field; candidates currently pursuing a doctorate must provide evidence it will be fully completed by June of the 2018 academic year. Certification in CHES or MCHES is highly preferred.

Successful applicants will be expected to develop new programs and course offerings for the Department of Health Sciences; maintain an established research agenda with scholarly engagement in their respective field; participate in student recruitment, internship placement, advisement, and service activities at the department, college, university, and community levels; and develop links to the community for residency placements.

Faculty teaching assignments can include day, evening, weekend, and online courses. Candidates should demonstrate evidence of technological competence; working knowledge of student and program assessment; strong leadership; interpersonal and organizational skills; and commitment to diversity among faculty, staff, and students.
