Assistant or Associate Professor of Biology
Indiana Wesleyan University seeks applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor of Biology, on the Marion, Indiana campus. The successful candidate will combine teaching with scholarly endeavors. Applicants should show evidence of personal faith in Jesus Christ, comfort with the Wesleyan-Arminian theology, and commitments to liberal learning and the integration of Christian faith in teaching and practice. Start date will be Fall 2018, pending funding.
Candidates must have an earned doctorate in the Life Sciences and an active, growing Christian faith. Offer evidence of fostering excellence in teaching, scholarship and service in a diverse and inclusive learning environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Biology Department is seeking an individual to join in the training of world changing Biologists. The successful candidate will have training in Plant Biology and Sustainable Agriculture. Preference will be given to candidates with the ability to teach and direct Principles of Biology Lectures and labs. We seek a candidate who is also committed to building and sustaining an active program of undergraduate research. The biology department at Indiana Wesleyan University has ten full-time faculty members, a strong commitment to high quality, academically rigorous teaching and a solid tradition of undergraduate research. The prospective faculty member should be willing to work collaboratively as part of our vibrant School of the Physical and Applied Sciences of 34 full-time faculty.
