The Oswego Alumni Association, Inc., located at SUNY Oswego, invites applications for an Assistant Director of Student-Alumni Engagement. While this position is located on the campus of SUNY Oswego, this is an Oswego Alumni Association, Inc. position, NOT a New York State position.

Job Description: The Assistant Director of Student-Alumni Engagement is a member of the alumni relations team of the Division of Alumni and University Development. The Assistant Director is responsible for the coordination of programs to inspire an already engaged alumni community, along with our diverse student population, through events and programs for current students and alumni, including the Senior Class and Future Alumni Network (student) programs. The Assistant Director will also coordinate the New York City Career Connections (alumni-student networking) program, coordinate all Torchlight Ceremonies, facilitate the Reunion planning for selected classes and affinity groups and assist with the overall Alumni Social Media program.
This position will be expected to display commitment to alumni and student programming, and possess leadership, communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with an increasingly diverse array of alumni, students and colleagues. - Bachelor’s Degree by time of appointment
- Ability for some travel and nights and weekends programs
- Valid driver’s license
- 1-2 years professional experience in alumni relations, student affairs, higher education, fundraising or public relations and marketing for other not-for-profit agencies similar in scope to the SUNY Oswego Alumni Association
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Demonstrated team-building skills and evidenced ability to work as a member of a team
- Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills
- Successful experience in program development and event planning
- Strong computer/technology skills, working understanding of various social media platforms
- Strong work ethic
- Experience working with diverse constituencies
- Attention to organizational planning and detail
- Ability to work broadly and effectively with a diverse population of students and volunteers
