PROGRAM DIRECTOR - RISK MANAGEMENT AND INSURANCE (EABA)

Responsibilities:

The Department of Economics, Accounting & Business Administration (EABA) at the University of Mount Union is seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to serve as the Program Director for the Risk Management and Insurance (RMI) program, scheduled for launch in August of 2018.  The RMI program will be part of a department that currently offers six majors and three minors. EABA majors represent 16% of the entire undergraduate student body. There are 10 full-time faculty members. The department is currently a candidate for accreditation by ACBSP.

Qualifications and Responsibilities:

Candidates should possess a graduate degree related to insurance and/or risk management. Some combination of corporate/entrepreneurial and higher education teaching experience is preferred, as is a related terminal degree and experience in launching new undergraduate programs.

Responsibilities of this position include: (1) overseeing the coordination and administration of all aspects of the risk management and insurance program, including planning and organizing outreach activities, industry conferences, and internship programs; (2) teaching courses pertaining to risk management and insurance, and in other business-related disciplines on an as-needed basis; (3) advising and mentoring students in their academic and professional development; (4) identifying and implementing appropriate certification opportunities for students; (5) conducting an appropriate level of academic or professional scholarship; and (6) service to the university and community.

Compensation:

Competitive, based on qualifications. Fringe benefits include a 10% contribution by the University to TIAA/CREF after one year of service; contribution by the University toward hospitalization, major medical, disability, and group life insurance; tuition exchange for qualified dependents.
