Job Summary: The Alexander Campbell King Law Library at the University of Georgia School of Law seeks an enthusiastic, creative and service-focused individual to serve as Outreach Services Librarian. The Outreach Services Librarian will: * Lead outreach and communication efforts of the law library: ** Chair the public relations team ** Coordinate educational, programmatic and promotional outreach to the law school community ** Develop and participate in new and innovative approaches for effective outreach ** Collaborate with constituents within the law school community to promote library services, resources and events * Offer legal research instruction ** Participate in planning and teaching of first year, advanced, and/or specialized legal research courses ** Provide additional legal research instruction such as class presentations, targeted instructional programs or continuing legal education seminars * Provide research and reference services * Participate in management of the law library by actively contributing to planning and evaluating and implementing best practices for library services, resources and technologies * Participate in professional, scholarly and service activities The Alexander Campbell King Law Library has a rich, established collection of over 500,000 digital and print titles. Minimum Qualifications: A J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and an M.L.S. or equivalent degree from an ALA-accredited institution. Degrees must be completed prior to candidates's starting date of employment.
Preferred Qualifications: A successful candidate will possess strong interpersonal communication skills(including a welcoming manner, active listening, and nonjudgmental response); excellent project management skills; demonstrated ability to work with all library patrons and staff in a friendly, courteous, and professional fashion; enthusiasm for contributing to a collaborative work environment; and demonstrating ability to work well independently and collegially; understanding of marketing best practices; proficiency with design software and web-based promotional tools; demonstrated ability to provide guidance and inspiration as a team leader; familiarity with Digital Commons or a similar online repository; demonstrated ability to provide classroom instruction.
