Job Information

Job Summary:

Perform routine and more complex technical duties to assist co-workers in the laboratory. Collect and analyze data and/or specimens. Responsibilities include: setting up and performing experiments, interacting with students and other laboratory staff under the direction of the principal investigator.

Must have prior research experience working with mouse colonies. At least 1-2 years of full-time employment in molecular biology or cell biology laboratory is essential.

  • Duties are varied and require theoretical knowledge as well as research experience in animal husbandry. 20%
  • Perform technical and research functions on projects involving: Maintenance of mouse colony and genotyping, 25%
  • assist in the characterization of mice, immunohistochemistry, behavior tests, etc. 25%
  • prepare reports and data for review and analysis by the Research supervisor. 25%

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills required
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team required
  • Ability to learn new techniques quickly and to work in sterile condition
  • Good manual dexterity and superior organizational skills required
  • Knowledge of research Techniques or methods required

Additional Requirements

Education, Experience and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a field relevant to the research being conducted required.

  • Must have prior research experience working with mouse colonies. At least 1-2 years of full-time employment in molecular biology or cell biology laboratory is essential.
