Instructor of Mathematics

Job description

Arkansas State University – Beebe, a two-year residential community college associated with the Arkansas State University System, invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, promotion and tenure eligible, Instructor or Assistant Professor of Mathematics to begin August 2018.

The successful candidate will possess a thorough knowledge of the discipline and provide consistent, quality teaching of 15 hours of mathematics courses. Courses may be taught on any of the ASU Beebe campuses with night, online, and Saturday classes possible. The individual hired will participate in academic advising, be involved in assessment of student learning, and be actively engaged in committee service and student recruitment and retention initiatives.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong desire for teaching and community engagement rather than research and publishing.

Master’s degree in Mathematics, or closely related field is required. An ability to inspire, motivate, and empower students to succeed. Strong computer and technology skills.

One to three years teaching experience is preferred.
