Description of Position
Hourly Salary: $37.47 per student, per unit with a minimum of 3 units per student.
WRKX faculty members are responsible for the following:
• Assist students to develop appropriate learning objectives that are obtainable and reasonable within the scope of the Work Experience program.
• Conduct one-on-one meetings with students to provide support and feedback regarding their work experience.
• Collect, maintain and complete course documents.
• Contact each employer twice, with at least one contact occurring in-person at the student’s place of employment.
• Hold weekly office hours on DVC campus.
• Maintain required student records in an organized and comprehensive manner and submit at the end of each term.
• Set up and participate in student WRKX orientations.
• Hours may include evenings and weekends depending on location and hours of student placements.

Duties and Responsibilities
Adjunct Faculty duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. providing instruction in accordance with established curriculum, course outlines and class schedules;
2. creating and maintaining an environment which emphasizes learning, encourages free discussion of ideas and critical thinking;
3. evaluating progress of students concerning educational matters and grades student work;
4. meeting with students outside of class;
5. maintaining appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics;
6. maintaining current knowledge in the subject matter areas;
7. fulfilling professional responsibilities of a part-time/temporary faculty member;
8. maintaining accurate academic records;
9. performing other related duties as assigned.
The minimum qualifications for an instructor of work experience education shall be to meet the minimum qualifications in any Career Technical Education (CTE) discipline in which work experience credits are currently being offered at DVC. The current CTEdisciplines are Architecture, Business, Construction, Culinary Arts, Drama, Environmental Science, Film, Television and Electronic Media, Geography, Horticulture, Health Science, Library Technology, Music Industry Studies, and Special Education. Part-time instructors and non-instructional academic staff may be eligible for medical, dental and vision plan benefits at the beginning of their third semester. Eligibility requirements are based on the United Faculty contract for part-time instructors and non-instructional academic staff and include: 1) working for CCCCD in the current semester and 2) averaged 0.30 FTE of a regular faculty member’s load for the previous two semesters with CCCCD. Medical and dental premium calculations are based on the previous semester FTE or load. Part-time instructors pay a portion for medical and dental and the full premium for the Vision Services plan per the United Faculty contract. Eligible part-time instructors and non-instructional staff may enroll in Kaiser, Anthem HMO, Anthem EPO, Delta Dental PPO, Delta Care and the Vision Services Plan during the open enrollment periods which occur at the beginning of the fall and spring semester.
