Position Information: The Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education (UE) Division engages students and instructors with resources that promote academic excellence, enable student success and enhance the undergraduate student experience. The incumbent reports to the Assistant Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education and leads high-impact programs for UCR undergraduate students and the Summer Academy program for high school students. The incumbent is a highly effective program coordinator, with proven skills in enhancing, evaluating, marketing, and scaling existing programs; has outstanding organizational, interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills; able to manage multiple priorities; and thrives in a fast-paced work environment. The incumbent will collaborate with UE personnel, colleges, associate deans, academic senate committees, faculty members, student affairs managers, academic advisors, and other campus colleagues to implement high-impact educational programs that promote student engagement and academic excellence. These include, but are not limited to student-led R'Courses, Global Issues Forum, Sustainability programs, Community Engaged and Service Learning, and Summer Academy. Minimum Requirements: Knowledge of academic curricula.
Experienced knowledge of specific learning theory, learning styles, affective issues, academic issues, and socio-cultural/linguistic issues in applying academic support to students.
Knowledge of strategies in critical thinking, reading, writing, note taking, test taking, time management, and goal setting.
Knowledge of current research and theoretical models that influence the application and delivery of academic services (e.g., discipline specific, student-population specific).
May require knowledge of NCAA policies, rules, and regulations.
Interpersonal skills.
Multicultural competencies, knowledge and experience working and interacting effectively with diverse groups of staff, faculty, and student populations.
Knowledge of program development, data gathering, assessment, and evaluation skills.
Knowledge of how learning skills issues apply to a research institution.
Problem solving and organizational skills.
Skills in judgment and decision-making.
Knowledge in designing and implementing learning and pedagogical models.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in an institution of higher education working with faculty, students, staff, and external stakeholders.
