Position Information: The Senior Associate ( or Associate) Athletics Director for External Affairs reports directly to the Director of Athletics, serves on the Senior Leadership Team, member of the internal and external operations teams, and will be the primary liaison between the Athletics Director and all fundraising activities and revenue operations within Athletics. Primary emphasis will include enhancing UCR's Division I relevancy, revenue generation and reaching new markets. The position is responsible for the planning, managing, and executing a plan to increase exposure of the Department of Athletics in all media: website, broadcast, print, social media, etc. Primary coordination for the athletics community, fan engagement, revenue generating and attendance, including identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of prospects and donors is also required. Works closely with Development Officers to manage the message and brand to external constituents. Supervise the following areas to ensure maximum results related to revenue growth, fan experience and positive exposure: Communication, Digital & Emerging Media, Marketing & External Relations, Community and Fan Engagement, Ticket Sales and Operations and Sponsorships. Responsible for being current on UCR policies and procedures and ensures all personnel and fiscal actions are in compliance with University policy, bargaining unit agreements, and state and federal laws. Ensures that the administrative and academic operations follow established operating policy and procedure.

Minimum Requirements: Supervisory skills to select, train, evaluate, lead and motivate, and as necessary take disciplinary action with subordinate staff.
Leadership/supervisorial skills, including skills to lead, direct, mentor, evaluate and motivate staff.
Working knowledge of the campus and/or medical center, including its achievements, mission, goals, vision, objectives and infrastructure.
Working marketing and sales knowledge.
Strong organizational skills.
Working knowledge of order entry methods and techniques and related product knowledge.
Interpersonal communication skills to effectively deal with all levels of the organization and external constituencies.
Working knowledge of fundraising, donor and public relations principles, concepts, procedures and techniques, including identification, cultivation, and knowledge of solicitation strategies.
Demonstrated track record of creating remarkable customer service experiences.
Skills to implement and execute programs including skills to achieve predetermined goals and objectives within budget and time constraints.
Good written, oral and interpersonal communication skills and political acumen to establish and maintain good working relationships within all organizational levels and outside constituencies.
Project management, critical thinking, problem-solving and analytical skills.
Skills to meet predetermined goals and objectives, including securing gifts.
Basic knowledge of applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, etc.
Leadership/management skills, including skills to lead, direct, mentor, evaluate and motivate staff.
Knowledge of management concepts, principles and applicable policies.
Skills to analyze evaluate and improve programs/services.
Significant knowledge of Microsoft Office. Extensive experience with Adobe Creative Suite and social media platforms outside of personal use.
Ability to foster positive relationships and create partnerships with a wide range of constituent groups; plan, develop, and coordinate multiple projects; work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, strong attention to detail and keep specific timeliness; and communicate and adhere to University, Big West Conference and NCAA policies, procedures, rules 'and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience with video editing software.
