Minimum Education/Experience: Master's degree in business administration, research administration, public administration, or another related area or a Bachelor's degree in business administration, research administration, public administration, scientific discipline, or related area and 5 years of demonstrated management level administrative experience in a University environment. Job Duties: Working in close collaboration with the Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies (ADR), this role will be vital for the development of research infrastructure best practices and new programmatic offerings focused on improved reporting, communication of research funding opportunities, fostering interdisciplinary research, and policy development and implementation. Program Director responsibilities include the following: facilitates the development of new research initiatives for BSOM (e.g., Grant and Manuscript Consults) and manages existing RGS programs; collaborates with BSOM Finance and University Central Offices to track funds flow related to research and graduate studies; develops processes to assist faculty with the monitoring of sponsored program funding; administers the research reporting and national ranking function of the BSOM; interprets and presents funding data and program information to a variety of audiences; interfaces with multiple levels of the organization and external entities to discuss services and technology related to BSOM research programs; establishes and maintains collaborative relationship with administrators, faculty, and staff to advise, facilitate, and/or train in the essential elements of research programs; oversees the operations, records management and statistical report preparation, and documentation of research studies; collaborates with other institutional groups to develop policies that ensure research program compliance with government regulations, University policies, Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) and Institutional Review Board (IRB) requirements and other external regulating agencies; assists with the preparation of financial and regulatory reports; monitoring of operational expenses; and oversight and negotiation of research space allocations.
