Summary of Job Duties

This position is a tenure-track faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. The primary job duties include teaching economics at the graduate and undergraduate levels, engaging in a research program that results in outstanding scholarly publications, and performing service as assigned by the Department, College, and University.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A doctoral degree in economics with a field in applied econometrics and a supporting field in industrial organization, development, labor, or other areas of applied microeconomics as these areas would complement the current faculty's teaching and research interests with an expected earned Ph.D. in economics by August 12, 2018, conferred by the start of employment
  • The potential to produce high quality academic research in leading journals and secure external research funding
  • A commitment to high quality teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels

Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong applied econometrics skills and a familiarity with econometric methods for big data analytics
  • Experience with firm-, household-, and/or industry-level data is especially valued, as are skills in data manipulation, analysis, and big data techniques
