Summary of Job Duties
The Department of World Languages, Literatures, and Cultures at the University of Arkansas seeks applications for a full-time Clinical Assistant Professor in Spanish. Appointment is to begin 13 August 2018, for a nine-month contract renewable on a year-to-year basis, contingent upon satisfactory performance, program needs and available funding.
The Clinical Assistant Professor of Spanish will teach classes in Spanish language, culture, and literature across a range of levels. This position will participate actively in curriculum development and extra-curricular activities in the Spanish section and in allied programs. This position may also have course coordination duties.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

- Ph.D. in Spanish conferred by the start of employment
- Native or near-native proficiency in both Spanish and English
- Teaching experience and evidence of quality teaching across a range of levels
- Knowledge of and experience in the teaching of courses in translation and interpretation
- Knowledge of and experience in the development of successful T & I curriculum
- Training and experience in Spanish for special purposes
- Training and experience in service learning development
