Summary of Job Duties

The Director will support the mission and vision of the Eleanor Mann School of Nursing, the College of Education and Health Professions and the greater University. He/She will be responsible for the daily operations of the Eleanor Mann School of Nursing. Promoting excellence in department programs within the University is expected. The Director will represent the department to build and maintain collaborative relationships with local hospitals, clinics, and other health-care related professions. He/She is expected to create an environment that promotes and supports teaching, service and research appropriate for the faculty members' roles, responsibilities and expectations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • An earned doctorate from an accredited college or university conferred by the start of employment
  • A graduate degree in nursing
  • Eligible to hold an unencumbered RN license with the Arkansas State Board of Nursing
  • Demonstration of successful leadership ability
  • Commitment to excellence in teaching and learning
  • Scholarship consistent with the rank of associate professor

Preferred Qualifications
  • Qualifications consistent with the rank of professor
  • Previous academic administrative experience in nursing
  • Curriculum development, coordination and evaluation expertise in undergraduate and graduate programs with a variety of delivery methods
  • Successful record of securing external funding
  • Commitment to engage internal and external constituents
