The Division of Pulmonary, Allergy and Critical Care in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the tenure track. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in clinical care, research, and education. Candidates must be ABIM Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Critical Care, and be eligible for licensure in Pennsylvania.

The division is seeking physician-scientist for a tenure track position with a investigative wet-bench focus on lung biology including but not limited to lung development, epithelial cell biology, fibrotic lung remodeling, airways biology, thoracic oncology, and pulmonary vascular biology. The successful candidate should have appropriate post-graduate clinical training in Pulmonary and Critical Care and demonstrate a productive track record during post-doctoral research training with an ability to perform collaborative interdisciplinary science. As a new faculty member the successful applicant will be expected to establish an innovative, independent research program that will attract and maintain extramural funding from governmental agencies, private foundations, and industry. Additional responsibilities will include clinical activity and teaching within the UPHS provider network as well as participation in PENN graduate programs based on his/her research focus.
