Staff Clinician - Counseling Services
Gettysburg College, in historic Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, is seeking an experienced, generalist Staff Clinician (psychologist, counselor, social worker) with AOD expertise. Gettysburg College is a residential undergraduate liberal arts college, which enrolls approximately 2,600 students.
Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: provision of individual and group therapy to students; consultation to staff, faculty, parents, associated care providers, and students; crisis intervention; and education/outreach. This position reports directly to the Executive Director of Health and Counseling Services. The successful candidate will be joining a staff of 4 other providers, an administrative assistant, and a consulting psychiatrist.
Master’s degree in the mental health field is required. Doctorate in clinical psychology is highly desired. Must be licensed in PA within 6 months of hire. The optimal candidate will have experience working with individuals experiencing significant psychopathology and with crisis intervention/management, and will have an understanding of the challenges associated specifically with providing care within a residential college. Must be an excellent communicator, collaborative, professional, energetic, and able to manage a heavy caseload plus competing demands. Interest in working with typically under-served populations is desirable. Some evening and weekend work is necessary.
