Assistant/Associate Director for Employer & Alumni Relations
Basic Functions: Communicate the value proposition of hiring Denison students to multiple external partners, including employers, alumni, and Denison families, to identify summer and full-time opportunities for students at a broad range of employers. Use proven strengths in relationship development to build strong partnerships with hiring organizations. Serve as a trusted consultant/advisor to employers, helping both the University and these organizations to connect high-quality candidates with high-quality and desirable opportunities.
Essential Job Functions: Relationship Identification * Maintain knowledge of talent-acquisition practices and strategies for internships and entry-level jobs * Conduct ongoing targeted outreach with a wide range of prospective employers * Assist in collecting/maintaining data regarding relationships, partnerships, programs, and activities * Research/maintain appropriate resources for students/alumni regarding pre-professional and post-graduate opportunities Relationship Management * Partner with the Center's Program Coordinator to coordinate all visits, programs, and opportunities posted in Handshake * Partner to coordinate logistics for campus and virtual recruitment sessions * Help conduct summer communications with internship supervisors Relationship Stewardship * Attract, engage, manage, and steward relationships with external partners, including employers, alumni, and families. * Create, manage, and continually annual recognition of employers, alumni, and parents who engage with Denison students and young alumni. * Works with Director of Stewardship in Institutional Advancement Office to coordinate needs for donors * Serve as a liaison to the Knowlton Center's strategic partners with similar outreach responsibilities (e.g., Individual Giving, Admissions, Alumni and Family Engagement). * Coach students to effectively prepare for and effectively navigate all dimensions of the Center's career exploration model that help them secure and maximize their opportunities, experiences, and reflections. * Coordinate various programs and services of the Knowlton Center for Career Exploration; as appropriate, accompany Denison students on out-of-region travel programs. * Assist in the overall planning of special programs, events and related workshops * Keep members of the Knowlton Center leadership team informed of relevant issues and/or events Perform other duties as assigned or required.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree. Minimum of two years of experience in corporate recruiting, employer development, business administration, consulting and/or management. Possess strong project management skills (from initiation to execution); able to use analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills, ability to make presentations to a variety of audiences. Excellent administrative and organization skills with attention to detail; ability to work independently as well as be team-oriented; excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; strong work ethic. Willing and available to work nights and weekends and occasional travel commitments.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in higher education, human resources, executive recruiting, or a similar or related field/industry; direct or transferable skills working with a diverse range of constituencies - students, faculty, employers in all sectors (domestic and global), foundations, etc.
