Job description

Duties: This full-time position entails diverse data collection, orchestrating and overseeing Penn participation in a multicenter trial, and some administrative duties, all primarily focused on renal/urology research. The position will focus on conducting a multicenter, NIH-funded RCT to reduce kidney stone occurrence through behavior change via technology/smartphones with emphasis on recruitment and enrollment of potential subjects. There will be some schedule flexibility and independence, but individual must be available for certain clinics and be able to work 8-5 on most days. Follow-up phone interactions with subjects will depend on the subjects' schedules. Biological specimen (e.g., urine) collection and cataloging will also take place. Depending on experience and enthusiasm, the candidate will have the opportunity to participate in the preparation of tables, figures, posters, and manuscripts that relate to the research projects. In addition, duties will include preparation, editing and submitting Institutional Review Board (IRB) and regulatory documentation, study problem-solving, auditing, adverse event reporting, and general lab maintenance/record keeping.

Qualifications: The minimum of a Bachelor's degree along with 1-3 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, required. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical ability; excellent interpersonal skills; attention to detail; flexibility; and comfort with working independently. The CRC should have experience with extraction of clinical data, basic medical terminology, and database management. Comfort in a medical setting, with handling confidential patient information, and with patient contact is essential. Individual must be highly motivated, detail oriented, and familiar with the Microsoft Office Suite/computer literate. Advanced computer literacy is a plus. Finally, the ability to work harmoniously in a diverse group (doctors, residents, students, nurses, statisticians) is paramount. Position length contingent upon grant funding.
