PeopleSoft Time and Labor Business Analyst

Primary Function of Organization Unit: Enterprise Application Services (EAS) is in the Office of Information Technology (OIT) division at North Carolina State University. EAS is responsible for the design, implementation, operation, enhancement & maintenance of the University's enterprise business applications. This includes: development, operation & maintenance of all enterprise administrative systems (Advancement, Financials, HR, Portal and Student Information Systems, etc.), configuration management, maintenance, enhancements, and application integration.
Essential Job Duties: The PeopleSoft Time and Labor Analyst develops and maintains HR systems with a focus on payroll and time and labor. The Analyst will work with the IT Manager, Project Lead, team members, and other functional offices (such as Human Resources, Payroll, etc.) in order to implement advanced and highly complex software solutions with minimal supervision. The Analyst provides functional production support, designs and system configuration and enhancements and new applications, performs system testing, writes and maintains specifications and documentation.
Minimum Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree and minimum of three years of experience in Business Applications Consulting or Development; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Department Required Skills: Must be proficient in both functional business process understanding and advanced technical solutions. Must demonstrate strong judgment, leadership, communication, diplomacy, collaboration, and organization skills to interact positively and communicate appropriately with team members, campus representatives, customers, and management. Must demonstrate the capacity to understand the operations of the university, the unit and business processes. Thorough understanding of the project development life cycle, including but not limited to application analysis, development, testing, documentation, approval and post migration validation. Attention to detail and ability to form strong relationships between team members, customers, and management is essential. Expertise in working with customers in the business offices to establish requirements, to configure the applications to meet requirements, and to develop functional specifications for application modifications. Expertise in documenting requirements and creating precise specifications for modifications to meet the requirements. Expertise in testing methodologies and test script creation to ensure quality assurance. Ability to quickly and efficiently identify and solve technical problems that can impact a large number of customers.
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: - Experience with PeopleSoft HCM Time and Labor functionality (9.1 or 9.2) is preferred. Experience with Time and Labor functionality as part of an Enterprise Application (SAP, Banner, etc) will also be considered. - Strong understanding of and experience with Time and Labor's integration with Payroll - Experience or training in SQL - Expertise in PeopleSoft Application functionality and knowledge of the technical components and data structures of the application. - Advanced knowledge of PeopleSoft module capabilities and configuration
