The Department of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto and Division of Gastroenterology and Multi Organ Transplant Program at the University Health Network and Mount Sinai Hospital are seeking an academic transplant hepatologist. The successful candidate will have the academic position description of either a Clinician Teacher or Clinician Educator and must be eligible for a Full-time Clinical academic appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2018, or shortly after that date.

The successful candidate must hold a MD degree and FRCPC qualifications or equivalent, and have, or be eligible for, licensure in Ontario. The successful applicant will have clinical training in transplant hepatology and liver disease. Completion of a transplant hepatology fellowship and demonstrated significant experience in transplant hepatology and liver transplantation are required. Excellent teaching abilities are also required. He/she should have a strong track record of interests and excellence in resident and fellow education. Formal training in teaching methodology is beneficial. Previous experience as fellowship director or co-director is beneficial.

The successful candidate will join a group of transplant hepatologists in a busy and growing academic liver transplant program. The combined Division of Gastroenterology of the University Health Network and Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto is a group of 28 gastroenterologists and hepatologists. The Division has active clinical and research programs in many areas of gastroenterology and hepatology including inflammatory bowel disease, nutrition, pancreatic physiology, motility, viral hepatitis, cholestatic liver disease, autoimmune liver disease, fatty liver, portal hypertension, hepatocellular carcinoma and liver transplantation. The liver transplant program is one of the largest in North America with academic interests in living donation, ex-vivo organ repair, hepatocellular carcinoma, and tolerance.

Estimated remuneration will be in the range of $195,000- 250,000 per annum and commensurate with academic rank, qualifications, and experience.
