Director, Principal and Presidential Gifts

IA is seeking to hire a Director, Principal and Presidential Gifts to join our talented and dynamic team of fundraisers. Reporting to the Senior Vice President for Institutional Advancement, and working closely with the President’s Office, the Director is responsible for coordinating all planning and actions related to or affecting donors or prospects assigned to the President, or for whom the President has ongoing responsibilities. The effective candidate will become sufficiently familiar with the assigned pool of Presidential prospects in particular, and the larger pool of prospects and donors for whom the President plays a role in the relationship. The Director will suggest courses of action or specific "donor moves" to the SVP, and help to execute cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship efforts. The Director will also write and review correspondence for the president’s signature.
This position requires a sophisticated understanding of complex nature of the relationship building process as it relates to Development. Responsible for determining on a daily basis the best use of the President's time with regard to prospects, selecting and recommending priorities for contact, and identifying follow up actions to enhance the likelihood of securing a gift. Will have supervisory responsibility for a support position that may be added at a later date. The offices of the SVP and President are fast-paced, high-pressure environments requiring the ability to "juggle" multiple high-priority items simultaneously. The daily work load often extends beyond the typical 9-5 work day.
A Bachelor’s degree is required/Masters preferred. A minimum of 5-8 years’ total work-related experience and 1-3 years supervisor/management experience also required.
