ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF EDUCATION – TENURE TRACK

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Department of Education at The University of Tulsa seeks candidates to fill a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level for the academic year 2018-2019 beginning August 2018.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES:

The person hired for this position will teach undergraduate courses in elementary reading methods, elementary social studies methods, and other foundational courses in the elementary education program. The new hire will also have the opportunity to develop new courses and field experience related to elementary literacy and ESL education in collaboration with other university faculty and community partners. Additional responsibilities include maintaining an active research agenda related to elementary education, advising students, and participating in department and university service.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Earned Doctorate in Elementary Education or a closely related field; elementary teaching experience; evidence of an active research agenda

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds; experience teaching ESL; evidence of successful teaching at the undergraduate level; experience collaborating with K-12 educators and schools
