FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

CUNY Hunter College invites applicants for a Distinguished Lecturer/Production Manager position in the department of Theatre to begin Fall 2018. This position reports to the dept Chair and will teach the required credit-bearing Production Class for theatre majors and one additional class each semester in Acting, Directing, Theatre History, Devised Theatre, or in an area of the candidate's expertise. The successful candidate will oversee all production elements of departmental productions and events, including planning, budgeting, scheduling and the production process; contracting and hiring designers and production crew; and the work of the Assistant Production Manager, in connection with student productions. The faculty member will also manage student Required Crew Assignments (RCAs); advise the Undergraduate Theatre Club and independent students honors projects, and initiate and cultivate connections between the department and professional theatres.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree and a record of achievement in a profession or field of expertise related to teaching assignments. Also required is the ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.

We are seeking candidates with a strong background in theatre production who are committed to excellence in undergraduate teaching and identify with the mission of a department that teaches theatre to an ethnically diverse student body as an essential part of a liberal arts education.

Preferred Qualifications: MFA or PhD preferred. ABD, or equivalent teaching and production management experience, considered.
