The Lengner and Vaughan labs study regenerative biology and tissue maintenance in epithelial tissues, particularly the intestine and lungs. This position will be a joint appointment in both the Lengner and Vaughan research groups.
The primary duty of this position will be to maintain in vitro pluripotent cell cultures. This will involve standard stem cell culture techniques, and will also involve various gene editing strategies, especially CRISPR/Cas9-driven homology-directed repair, as well as directed differentiated of these cells into organ-specific cell types of interest. Additional duties may include collecting and preparing data on projects, preparing and assisting the PI with basic molecular biology and biochemistry techniques, assisting with protocol preparations and process, cell culture; cell sorting; microscopy and histology; bioinformatics.

Qualifications: Bachelors or Masters degree with a biomedical focus and at least 1 year of experience with pluripotent culture systems (or equivalent combination of education and experience) is required.

Preference given to candidates with prior relevant experience or education in molecular biology research methods. Previous experience in standard methods beyond pluripotent cell culture work (e.g., flow cytometry, southern blotting, and CRISPR-based genetic manipulation) is preferred but can be acquired as needed.

Must have strong work ethic, communication & organization skills; willingness to learn new methods & techniques as the projects evolves. The successful candidate will thrive in a collaborative team work setting.
