GRANTS MANAGEMENT SPEC
Duties: The Grants Management Specialist (post-award) serves as leader for the management of sponsored program post-award reporting, post-award accounting activities, and information dissemination and training within the Perelman School of Medicine at the central level. The Specialist directs and performs research support operations at the central School of Medicine level and on behalf of departments, centers and institutes; performs analyses of research and financial data; and develops, produces and analyzes reports to enhance the understanding and management of research administration at the Perelman School of Medicine. Works to improve customer service to investigators, the efficiency and accuracy of grants management and administration, and to increase the knowledge base for research administration on the school-wide level. Reports to the Director of Post Award Management, Office of Research Support Services
Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree and 5 years to 7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Thorough knowledge of University, School of Medicine, and major extramural research sponsor policies and guidelines; working knowledge of Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards and NIH Grants Policy Statement ; extensive computer skills to support research administration (Web Intelligence/Business Objects experience preferred); Proficient in Excel to produce high level reports for investigators providing them with short term and long term forecasting and modeling; excellent interpersonal and communication skills; demonstrated ability to function as a leader; ability to be flexible and contribute positively to a dynamic business environment.
