Serve as a supporting member of the Penn Medicine Development and Alumni Relations Research team, which provides in-depth research services and products to staff in support of Penn Medicine DAR's fundraising and alumni relations goals. Manage a significant workload of research requests, including proactive prospect identification and other advanced research projects on both medical alumni and grateful patients. Work with entire Research team to support preparation for the next comprehensive campaign. Other duties as assigned.

* Reporting to the Senior Director of Development Data, Research, and Analysis and under limited supervision, create and update financial snapshots, quick screens, and data screenings for senior leadership and development officers at Penn Medicine DAR.
* Assess the giving ability of prospective donors using established guidelines to increase the University's prospect pool.
* Work collaboratively with the entire Research team to develop proactive research projects for a variety of development initiatives and purposes.
* Contribute to and produce the Penn Medicine DAR Research Quarterly Newsletter with Assistant Director of Prospect Research and Prospect Researchers.
* Develop an understanding of the standards and ethics of prospect research through educational opportunities and conferences.
* Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: HS with 3-5 years of experience in field relevant to research activities of department preferred; BA/BS preferred or equivalent work experience. Experience with proactive research and prospect identification highly desirable. Ability to gather, analyze, and write detailed reports in a high-volume department. Ability to work on multiple projects while meeting tight deadlines essential. Ability to work collaboratively with large, diverse group of development officers to achieve departmental and fundraising goals essential. Knowledge of computer databases and internet resources used for prospect research essential. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PeopleSoft/Oracle, Illustrator required. Capacity to work as a team member is essential. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
