Job description

Duties: The Graphic Designer works directly under the supervision of the Creative Marketing Manager to support the division's strategic goals and program initiatives through print and digital design. S/he leads the design of on-brand, forward-thinking and user-centric solutions across varied media (online, email, print, video, advertising, mobile and more) to meet business objectives-from concept to completion to delivery. The designer uses a CMS for front-end website maintenance and updates, and is involved in basic editing of video assets. The designer incorporates brand guidelines, ensuring consistency across all projects and mediums, and evolves guidelines as necessary. S/he manages the photo and video libraries and brand assets, stays current on design, usability and higher education trends, and excels in attention to detail and quality assurance. The designer works collaboratively with the marketing team and program teams, engages in-and responds to-creative feedback, manages project workflow and timing, maintains files, and follows department process.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and 2 to 3 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, is required. The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree in graphic design (or related field) and has 3-5 years of professional print and digital design and marketing experience. This candidate demonstrates expert-level knowledge of industry-standard graphics applications, specifically the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat) and other software applications, including MS Office. The candidate has a working knowledge of front end website development and is able work effectively within a content management system. S/he has a proven record of strong idea-driven creative and user-focused design.

Preference will be given to candidates who have experience with photo and video production and editing.This candidate has experience working within a creative team, and taking direction from creative and marketing leadership. S/he has experience working on multiple projects with varying deadlines and has a proven record of strong project and time management skills. This candidate has excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and a keen eye for detail and quality control of his/her own work.

Evidence of continuing studies, coursework and active professional involvement is a plus. Applicants must submit an online portfolio of design work to be considered.
