Scenic Artist

Under the supervision of the Production and Technical Manager, the Scenic Artist paints all scenic elements for the Claire Trevor School of the Arts department shows. This position is responsible for painting, texturing and sculpting all scenery surfaces for a given production design. S/he consults with students and faculty designers and develops samples that meet Designers' specifications for a given production design. Working closely with the Production Manager, s/he formulates material budgets; and schedules work and delivery time. S/he works closely with students, staff and faculty members to accomplish their designs and requires the ability to extrapolate data from elevations, examples and verbal instructions. S/he must be able to take this information and clearly communicate to other shop personnel and monitor the progress of several on-going projects.

Salary: Hourly $19.37
Total Hours: 8-5, M-F
