Employee and Labor Relations Specialist (Temp PT 25 hrs/wk)

General Summary:
Entry-level position assisting with a variety of Human Resource functions. Perform duties characterized by the demand for considerable initiative and independent judgment; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with college officials and correctly convey information to these constituencies.

Work location and additional information:
REPOSTING This is a temporary part-time position with option for medical benefits at full employee cost.

Campus: Office of College Services

Days and Hours (for hourly position):
Monday - Friday 9:00 am - 2:00 pm (flexible)

Schedule may be required to change to meet the needs of the department and personnel coverage.

Job Specifications:
Associate's degree in human resources or business-related field or at least 60 college credits in a related field preferred. Must have two (2) years experience working in either a Human Resources Department or administrative offices. Must be organized, outgoing, customer focused, detail oriented, and have the ability to multitask. Must be proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook, typing required. Work experience using an online recruitment tool and content management system preferred.

Job Duties:
1. Preparation of Unemployment records.
2. Updating Reasonable Assurance List.
3. Special Project 1 : Address all Employee Relations old files & apply appropriate records retention rules.
4. Manage and update the Employee & Labor Relations grievance and complaint spreadsheet.
5. To provide clerical support to Employee & Labor Relations department.
6. Assist in coordinating Employee & Labor Relations Director calendar for meetings, hearings, events etc. when necessary.
7. Serve as a point of contact for department when the director is out of the office.
8. Assist in preparation & distributing correspondence pertaining to department.
9. Phone coverage in sync with other Human Resource support staff.
10. Assist Employee & Labor Relations Director in daily functions, such as handling grievances, disciplinary actions, and preparing reports.
11. Attending disciplinary meetings, Unemployment Hearings, and Loudermill Hearings.
12. Assist with Employee Relations Training.
13. Special Project 2: Organize storage in basement.
14. Usage of copier, printer, and telephone communications pertaining to the department.
15. Coordinate Pre-disciplinary Hearings, coordinate Disciplinary Hearings, coordinate Unemployment Hearings, and coordinate Loudermill hearings.
16. Typing any necessary correspondence, spreadsheets, presentations, or other information pertaining to Employee & Labor Relations department's assignments.
17. Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
