The School of Nursing at Husson University in Bangor, Maine, is seeking an academic experienced in Medical-Surgical nursing and/or pediatric education and practice for fall 2018. This is a full time (9-month) ranked faculty position with multi-year contract eligibility and a direct report to the Chair of the School of Nursing.The School of Nursing uses embedded formative and summative assessment and remediation strategies to ensure student progression and success toward graduation. The University is committed to delivering premier professional programs that emphasize experiential learning, student achievement and inter-professional education.The fully accredited School of Nursing is part of Husson University's College of Health and Education, which also includes the fully accredited Schools of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Education & Counseling. The School of Nursing enrolls approximately 80 undergraduate and 25 graduate students per year. It offers a traditional BSN, an online RN to BSN, and a Family Nurse Practitioner degree and certification.Husson University is a private institution of approximately 3500 undergraduate and graduate students located in Bangor, Maine. It offers Associate, Bachelor, Master's, and first professional degrees (MSOT, PharmD and DPT) through its five colleges and schools. The University is approximately 40 minutes from the ocean and the nearby mountains of Acadia National Park.This position will have responsibility for students in the BSN program. Faculty are responsible for 24 credits hours per academic year. Additionally, Husson adheres to the Boyer model of Scholarship with the expectation that faculty will pursue systematic inquiry in one of the four scholarship areas.

To be considered, applicants must be licensed Registered Nurses with a graduate degree in nursing and demonstrated teaching experience in higher education. Preference will be given to applicants with:
• a doctorate (Ph.D, Sc.D.,D.N.P., Ed.D.) or progress toward a terminal degree
• experience in medical-surgical practice and simulation
• familiarity with varied instructional delivery methods including online and hybrid or blended formats
•experience with outcomes-based assessment and student success strategies
