Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice

Job Summary/Description

As a generalist, teach wide range of undergraduate online and traditional face-to-face core courses and online graduate courses in Criminal Justice as well as other courses as assigned.

Typical Duties/Job Duties

May manage internships and develop advanced criminal justice courses. Ability to conform to and facilitate an existing high quality established program is essential. Advise criminal justice students and assist in curriculum development. Engage in customary departmental and university service and facilitate communication and cooperation among all members of the Department of Security Studies and Criminal Justice.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Applicants should have education and research interests in above areas and in teaching. Ability to relate well with students, university staff, faculty and working with criminal justice practitioners.

Minimum Qualifications

Ph.D. in Criminal Justice with emphasis in the above areas. Strong preference given to, in the following order: (1) earned Ph.D., and (2) ABD.

Formal training in education and teaching methodology or verifiable prior high quality teaching experience.
