Visiting Instructor of Management

Job Summary/Description

Angelo State University invites applications for a one-year visiting position as a non-tenure-eligible instructor of management in the Management and Marketing Department in the College of Business. This one-year, full-time, nine-month faculty position will start in Fall 2018, and carries a standard teaching load of five courses per long semester.
Effective teaching, regular service, and either scholarly publications or continued professional engagement in the practice of business are expected of all non-tenure-eligible faculty in the College of Business.
The business programs offered by the College of Business are accredited by ACBSP; however, Angelo State University is a member of AACSB and is currently actively engaged in the process of attaining initial business accreditation by AACSB.

Typical Duties/Job Duties

Teach graduate and undergraduate courses in management as assigned, and participate in various service-related activities such as student advising, committee work, and engagement with the academic/business community.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Applicants should be dedicated to excellence in teaching and willing to deliver their courses in both traditional and on line formats. Applicants should also be dedicated to helping ASU students succeed, particularly first-generation college students.
Applicants should possess excellent written and oral communication skills, with strong organizational skills. Collegiality and the ability to collaborate with other business faculty are also expected.

Minimum Qualifications

MBA or a master’s degree in a closely related field. Must meet current College of Business criteria as an Instructional Practitioner (IP) or a Scholarly Practitioner (SP) as defined in the College of Business Faculty Qualification Guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree or MBA from an AACSB-accredited business program.
Experience teaching at the college or university level. Recent industry experience.
