Founded in 1899, Mount Ida College is a small, private college in Newton, Massachusetts, just minutes from Boston which provides career focused programs built upon a strong foundation in the social sciences, humanities and the arts, all developed and implemented to prepare our approximately 1,400 students for success in their chosen fields of endeavor.

Purpose:The Graduate Assistant is a member of the Career Center team who assists with providing career coaching to students, coordinating events, and advertising through social media outlets.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide career coaching on resume development, interviewing, job/internship search, etc.
2. Administer and interpret career assessment tools with students.
3. Plan and coordinate one signature career event with The Career Center staff each semester.
4. Schedule and staff pop-up career coaching across campus and assist with brainstorming for gamified career events.
5. Develop an undergraduate Career Assistant training manual.
6. Train undergraduate Career Assistants and assign projects based on their individual skills and the needs of The Career Center (generally flyers/marketing materials).
7. Collect and/or develop original content and resources for social media as determined by weekly themes determined by The Career Center staff.
8. Review student resumes online and provide feedback.9. Present information sessions or workshops in classrooms as needed.10. All other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Interest in career services and event planning.
2. Ability to work independently; self-directed.
3. Strong organizational and planning skills.
4. Attention to detail.
5. Ability to work effectively with and contribute to a team of professionals.
6. Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, Outlook, Twitter, Linked In, lnstagram, and other social media outlets.
