Graduate Placement Coordinator (Clinical Assistant Professor, 9-month)

Clemson University's College of Education invites applicants for a non-tenure-track Clinical Assistant Professor position. This position reports directly to the Executive Director of the Office of Field and Clinical Partnerships and Outreach for day-to-day responsibilities with an academic appointment in the Department of Educational and Organization Leadership Development (EOLD) for teaching assignments. The Graduate Placement Coordinator will support unique programs across different departments and should be able to differentiate support for faculty, staff, and students appropriately. The primary responsibilities of this position are to assist with P-20 and community agency field placements and support faculty with field and placement related tasks, with primary responsibility to select non-teacher education graduate programs in the College of Education. Specific functions, depending on the program, may include:

  • Serve as the liaison between the Office of Field and Clinical Partnerships and Outreach, graduate program faculty in EOLD, EHD (Education and Human Development), and TL (Teaching and Learning) departments, school and community agency partners;
  • Oversee coordination of field experiences for College of Education Graduate students;
  • Collaborate with graduate program faculty, specifically about field placements;
  • Schedule regular visits with partner schools, organizations, and/or community agencies specific to assigned College of Education graduate programs;
  • Provide support to faculty for drafting, sending, and collecting Memorandums of Understanding;
  • Assist with organizing orientations and meetings related to field experiences;
  • Assist with event planning and supervisor/mentor training logistics;
  • Assist faculty with online tools used for data collection and program accreditation that support students' field placements;
  • Maintain portions of the Field and Clinical Partnerships and Outreach's website pertaining to graduate programs, including updating relevant handbooks and forms;
  • Process letters for supervisors/mentors including initial communication and appreciation letters;
  • Maintain data bases for all College of Education graduate student placements and program graduates;
  • Assist with marketing College of Education graduate programs;
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director of Field and Clinical Partnerships and Outreach and with the Executive Director of Strategic Planning, Assessment and Accreditation in data collection needs;
  • Teach the equivalent of one course per semester (may include supervision);
  • Provide service to the EOLD department;
  • Complete special projects and administrative tasks, as assigned;
  • Other duties a required by the Executive Director of Field and Clinical Partnerships and Outreach.

The position is 9-months with opportunities for summer employment. The anticipated start date is August, 15, 2018.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: (1) Master's Degree in Educational Leadership, Student Affairs, or related field; Doctorate Degree preferred. (2) Excellent communication skills. (3) Ability to manage and organize a variety of detail-orientated tasks.

Preferred Qualifications: (1) Experience teaching university courses; (2) varied experience teaching blended, hybrid, and/or online courses; (3) experience in P-20 settings; (4) ability to form and maintain partnerships; (5) availability to potentially work during summer months.
