Visiting Assistant Professor in French and French Studies
The Department of French and French Studies at The University of the South invites applications for a 1-year Visiting Assistant Professor (with probable renewal for a second year) to begin August 2018. Preferred strong background in French as a second language with emphasis on methodology, and French and Francophone culture.
The successful candidate will teach four language courses at all levels per year and the equivalent of one course-worth of time with lab activities and as director of the French House. The candidate is also expected to participate in the department's academic and extracurricular programs and activities such as the French Table and the French Club.
Demonstrated excellence in teaching and scholarly potential expected. Native or near-native fluency in both French and English required. Ph.D. in French by time of appointment preferred.
