Job description

Duties: The Development Coordinator performs a variety of responsibilities in support of the Morris Arboretum's overall fundraising program, including providing direct administrative support to the Director of Development and to the Department overall. The successful candidate will also work with the development staff to advance giving strategies and will engage regularly with volunteers, providing a high level of customer service; this includes drafting routine correspondence to a diverse set of constituents and stakeholders and preparing committee and presentation materials, including spreadsheets, charts, graphs, and other documents. This position is responsible for collecting and researching data to support or answer specific questions related to the development program. The Development Coordinator is responsible for timely and accurate donor/prospect data entry using the University of Pennsylvania's ATLAS database as well as Raiser's Edge.

Qualifications: A high school diploma or equivalent and 5 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, are required. A Bachelor's Degree and 1 to 3 years of experience in a development/fundraising office or similar are strongly preferred. Preferred: Experience with fundraising databases, broad experience with Microsoft office windows suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.). Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and maintain a willingness to work evenings and on weekends required. Demonstrated skill and knowledge of, or ability to learn quickly, the internal workings of the Arboretum and the University of Pennsylvania as well as the technology tools available. Experience with ATLAS and/or Raiser's Edge database systems preferred.
