Minimum Education/Experience: --Candidates must have a Master's degree with a concentration in Risk Management and Insurance from an appropriately accredited institution or an undergraduate degree from an appropriately accredited institution and at least two of the following insurance professional designations: CRM, CPCU, CIC, AAI, CLU, and CRIS. --Candidates should have ten or more years of experience in live classroom teaching (Professional or higher education) with at least five years teaching experience in higher education and evidence of excellence in teaching --The successful candidate should have more than ten years practical work experience in the insurance and risk management field --Candidates must be able and willing to travel overnight two to five times per semester with students to attend professional conferences and organization events --Candidates must be willing and available to mentor students --Candidates must be willing to build relationships with the insurance industry to help secure internships and post-graduation employment for students --Candidates should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills

Job Duties: The Department of Finance in the College of Business at East Carolina University is seeking a full-time Teaching Instructor to teach four sections (12 semester hours) of undergraduate courses in Risk Management and Insurance per semester for the academic year beginning in August 2018. This is a non-tenure track position. The candidate will be expected to provide service to the university, community, and profession, regularly attend college and department events and undertake additional duties as assigned by the department chair.
