The University of Texas at Austin invites applications for a full-time, tenured Associate or Full Professor to serve on the faculty of the Principalship Program within the highly ranked Department of Educational Leadership and Policy. The position will start in the Fall semester of 2018.
We seek an individual who is well-versed in the scholarship and practice of educational leadership, especially in urban school settings, and who is committed to a research agenda focused on the preparation of school leaders. This individual will be expected to deliver instruction in ways that support students in practical applications of leadership and field experience, in at least one of the following areas: instructional leadership, school improvement processes, data analysis, supervision and evaluation, teacher development, school organization and climate, human and fiscal resource management, or other areas of educational leadership. The individual will also be expected to engage with school partners and other stakeholders. In addition to teaching in the Principalship Program, this individual will be expected to teach in our other masters and doctoral programs as relevant to their expertise.

Candidates must hold an earned doctorate in educational leadership, administration, or policy, or a relevant social science discipline. The candidate would ideally have administrative experience at the school or district level. This position also requires the individual to engage in research relevant to the PK -12 educational community as well as foster partnerships with local school districts and other stakeholders. Also, the candidate will be expected to teach and advise students at the master's and doctoral levels, supervise dissertations, and participate in program development across all areas within the department. The successful candidate should have experience in serving as a tenured or tenure-track faculty member at peer institutions and must also demonstrate evidence of successful grant writing to support their research and/or to advance programmatic goals.

This position will remain open until filled. The salary is for a nine-month appointment, with strong potential employment in the summer. The University also provides a competitive benefits program.
